Giovanni Acquarone

Giovanni (Nanni) Acquarone – 1942 – engineer, was a skipper all his life and an explorer, sailing between 2007 and 2024 in several Arctic voyages and spending more than two years north of the Arctic Circle. He has been the first sailing boat skipper to circumnavigate the Arctic Ocean clockwise north of all the continents. He managed to get in contact with many local Arctic people and in the Pacific Ocean as well and to lead scientific Arctic expeditions. He wrote several books relating his many voyages.
